Your Bio

Paul Conrad is a Seattle-based photojournalist with over 15 years experience in the field specializing in photojournalism (breaking news, photo essays, portraiture), travel and sports photography.

He recently left his job as a staff photographer for The Aspen (Colo.) Times to pursue a freelance career in the Pacific Northwest. He also worked for the Enid (Okla.) News & Eagle, the Bowling Green (Ky.) Daily News, the Ogden (Utah) Standard Examiner, and the College Heights Herald.

In addition to his regular newspaper employment, he freelanced for publications such as The Denver Post, Rocky Mountain News, Associated Press, and many other national and international publications. He has also been published in books, including the cover for Capture My Colorado, and Living with Bears. He also has several photos in the New York Time's slide show Documenting the Decade.

His accolades include awards in news, sports, features and photo essays from the Colorado Press Association, Kentucky Press Association, and Kentucky News Photographer's Association, many Associated Press member showcase photos, MSNBC Week in Pictures and Year in Pictures, and many others.

He continues to expand his photography career by studying multi-media work including video, slide-shows and basic flashed-based web design.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in photojournalism from Western Kentucky University in 2000.

He is currently with Getty Images and World Picture News out of New York City and is accepting editorial, portraiture, lifestyle and travel assignments around the Seattle area and Pacific northwest, including southern British Columbia.
